Anhinga in Breeding Plumage
Update: SOLD!
Interesting to observe the way in which animals, like humans, change in appearance and behavior during courtship to attract a possible mate. A male Anhinga in full breeding plumage develops a distinctive mane, which is made up of lighter colored feathers on the back and sides of the neck. These lighter feathers stand up, or spike, and contrast with their typically black head.
